Location and Access

We are only some 3 minutes walk from the Tube station of Mansion House. Exit right. St James Garlickhythe church can be seen at the bottom of Garlick Hill.

Travelling by road, the Tube station and the top of Garlick Hill, are located on the south side of the junction of Cannon Street and Queen Victoria Street. This junction is well served by major bus routes. Some street parking spaces are marked on the road at the front of the church.

Transport

Main line rail services can be accessed quite near to St James church:

Blackfriars station is one Tube stop away, for Thames Link trains and those to the North from nearby Kings Cross station. Victoria station, for trains to the South and Gatwick airport, is six tube stops distant.

Waterloo station, one stop from Bank tube station, serves the West and South West. Liverpool St station, five tube stops away, serves the East and East Anglia.

Places of interest

The Church is within easy reach of the following places of interest:

The College of Arms, St Paul’s Cathedral, The Mansion House and The Guildhall. Across the Millennium Bridge, on Bankside, the Globe Theatre and Tate Modern can be found.

Refreshment

On weekdays, there are many local locations from which to choose.
On a Sunday restaurants, cafes and snack bars are open at:
No 1 Poultry, a restaurant near the Bank tube stn.
On Bankside at the Globe Theatre Café and Restaurant and
the neighbouring Pub.
Snacks are available in the morning at the top of Garlick Hill.
St Paul's Cathedral basement café is also usually open.

Church open days

In addition to the regular Sunday services, we plan to keep the church open for visitors Monday to Friday from 10.30am to 4 pm. However this is not always possible so please ring the Vestry number below to listen to the taped message, specifying current open days, before making a weekday visit.
